In June 2012, I travelled to Cambodia with my co-worker Bernard, and Dance Spectrum International (DSi) on a volunteer mission to provide infrastructure services as well as to deliver much needed footwear and schooling supplies to necessitous orphanages and children in Siem Reap.
Notwithstanding the relatively short period of our stay, I hope to have contributed towards the futures of the children we met, even if we have only provided slightly more conducive learning environments that will hopefully empower them with the education they need to help their fellow countrymen.
My trip started with a short tour of the city, courtesy of Ms Sharon, before the toiling began. So please bear with me if these are somewhat touristy.

These are the images from the days that followed, with us engaing the locals and people we went to help.
Bread is a very special treat for the children. So much so that they wouldn't eat it and tried saving it for little bites later at home. We had to assure them that each person would get two --- the second only if they had finished the first one.
If these sandals looked familiar, it is only because they were from Chingay 2012, and destined for the landfill if we hadn't taken them off the PA's hands so that people could put them to good use.
